An advanced black projection surface that returns the image and absorbs the room. It holds deep black and true color in spaces that cannot be darkened, and on camera.

The first principle

A Surface Returns Two Kinds of Light.

Every projection surface receives two kinds of light at once: the image from the projector, which is the light you want, and the ambient light of the space, which is the light you did not ask for. A plain screen treats both the same way. It returns the image, and it returns the room along with it.

A plain screen

Returns both. Black lifts toward gray, and contrast collapses in any lit space.

The Qualia Forge surface

Returns the image, absorbs the room. Black holds. Color stays true.

You cannot make black darker by adding light. Black is set by the room, unless the surface absorbs the room at the material level.

Between Projection and Direct-View LED.

It gives you the contrast under ambient light that buyers choose LED for, along with the seamless scale, light weight, curve-friendly form, and clean-on-camera image of projection.

The showcase

You cannot evaluate this surface from a chart. You have to see it.

The understanding starts here. The decision is made when you see the image with nothing in its way: at our demo facility in Hollywood, or a demo we arrange around your project.

Universal to the technology. Contrast, gamut, color accuracy and acoustic figures are measured in an independent optical laboratory and issued per surface. Gain is not among them: these surfaces do not trade angle for on-axis brightness, so there is no gain value to state.

Answered plainly

Questions.

Does it work with the lights on? +
Yes. That is the central reason it exists. It absorbs ambient light rather than reflecting it, so black holds and contrast survives under house lighting, in a way a plain white screen cannot.
Will it moiré on camera? +
No. Moiré comes from a camera looking at the fixed pixel grid of an emissive wall. A continuous projection surface has no pixel grid, no refresh cycle, and no tiles, so there is no moiré, no refresh beat, and no panel color to match.
Is it as good as an LED wall? +
In the ways that matter to the most demanding settings, it gives you the deep black and the punch in a lit space that people choose LED for, while keeping projection’s seamless scale, light weight, curves, and clean-on-camera image. Where a display must be self-emissive or perform in full daylight, an LED wall is still the right tool.
Can it follow a curve or a dome? +
Yes. Because it is one continuous surface rather than a grid of flat tiles, it can be formed seamlessly to curves, domes, and complex geometry.
Can the sound come through it? +
Yes, with the Acoustically Transparent family, which lets loudspeakers sit behind the image. The exact acoustic insertion loss is measured for each substrate.
Where do your numbers come from? +
The universal properties are stated openly. The figures specific to a surface, such as contrast, gamut, color accuracy, and acoustic data, are measured in an independent optical laboratory and issued with that surface’s datasheet, rather than claimed in general. Gain is the one number you will not find: it describes a screen that pushes light back toward the center seat at the cost of the sides, and these surfaces hold an even hemisphere instead. For the output in your own venue, use the visualizer.
